The men’s basketball team has had a desirable season so far. The Mountaineers started their delayed season off with three big wins back-to-back-to-back.
Their first game was on Jan. 22 at home against Central Baptist College. The Mountaineers won big, with a final score of 109-62. There were two players that tied in top points for the night, – Kavion McClain and Alvin Miles with 20 each.
Then the men’s second game was also another home game against OnPoint Academy Jan. 23. This game also resulted in another “W” for the team, ending with a score of 106-45. McClain had the top point-total with 19, followed by Josh Jones who scored 17. Miles also hit double digits again with 15 points. Nigel John also put 15 on the scoreboard.
The Mountaineers played OnPoint Academy again on Jan. 25, winning yet again by a score of 99-66. McClain led scorers once again with 28 points. Miles ended with 13, John scored 12, and Ashawnti Hunter added 10. In all, 13 Mountaineers scored in this early-season game.
The men host Oklahoma Wesleyan University Jan. 29 before opening up conference play agians NOC-Enid Feb. 1 at home.
