Eastern students have returned from their winter break and things are picking up in pace. Classes are moving right along, however, the COVID-19 is moving right along with it. Cases are rising and different variants are popping up with various new symptoms. For Eastern, students’ safety is their top priority and, therefore, the school, staff and students are taking precautions.
For Eastern to be able to provide support and resources to students, faculty and staff who have been exposed to or test positive for COVID-19, there is a Self-Report form on the EOSC website and either the Office of Student Services or the Office of Human Resources will contact you to provide further steps and help students. The link for Self-Reporting can be found here.
According to Eastern’s protocol, if you start to feel the symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and isolate yourself from family, friends and roommates as much as possible. If the symptoms develop in class or on campus, return home or to your dorm. Based on the situation on hand, Eastern officials will determine if you need to be isolated or quarantined, schedule a COVID-19 test, or seek a medical appointment.
Face-to-face classes are very involved and important, taking the precautions to prevent COVID-19 cases from rising will keep us on campus and on track. Be sure to wash hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer often to kill germs. Disinfecting surfaces and items is highly recommended as well.
