The Eastern community will have the opportunity to enjoy live music when the Music Department presents its annual Fall Concert at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 11 in Mitchell Auditorium.
Eastern Instructor of Music Brian T. Harris will lead the event. Amy Swain will accompany the performances. Both the college band and choir will perform at the concert. The groups are made up of a mixture of music majors, general college students, Eastern staff and community members.
“The 2022 Fall Concert will highlight our growing concert band and concert choir,” said Harris. “I encourage our campus and surrounding communities to come out and experience the outstanding talents of our participating students and community members.”
Renditions of Francis McBeth’s “Chant and Jubio,” Duke Ellington’s “It Don’t Mean a Thing” and Mary Lynn Lightfoot’s “And This Shall Be for Music” are just a sample of the night’s lineup
Students, staff and community members performing this year include Doug Voller of Clayton; Easton Hass and Murphy Peterson of Hartshorne; Julia Coats of Konawa; Riley Garrison of Lone Grove; Lane Willbanks of Quinton; Destinymarie Thigpen of Savanna and Memphis Anderson, Janice Forwoodson, Melanie Harris, Maurice Hawthorne, Philip Hawthorne, Jeremiah Lively, Owen Lively and Kassandra Rector of Wilburton.
Admission is free and open to the general public.
