EOSC’s Ag Division judging teams have had a busy past couple of months. All competition teams, which include Soil Judging, Meat Judging and Livestock Judging, have been hard at work practicing in preparation for their upcoming seasons.
The sophomore Livestock Judging team had their first contest on Sept. 1, in Leedey Okla. at the Oklahoma Stockman’s Sort, finishing 7th Overall Team. The next day they competed at the Oklahoma Southwest Regional in Woodward. They were able to bring back banners placing as 3rd High Team Overall, 4th High Team in Reasons, and returning sophomore Kinzee Todd was 9th High Individual.
On Sept. 24, both freshman and sophomore Livestock Judging teams traveled to Grand Island Nebraska to compete in the Aksarben Stock Show Judging Contest. The team will have a hectic next couple of weeks traveling across the country competing in Flint Hills, Tulsa State Fair, Dallas State Fair, Cimarron Classic and the American Royal Livestock Show.
The Meat Judging team also put in the miles on Sept. 24, going to Dodge City, Kansas for the Beef Empire Days National Division Contest. This was their first competition under new head coach, Jade Edwards. The team was able to bring back Third Overall Team in both the regular and alternate divisions, with several individuals placing in the top ten.
On Oct. 2, the Soils Team will make their debut in Sturgis, S.D., at the Region V Soil Judging Contest. Until then, they keep up the practices in and out of the classroom.
