Eastern’s Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), held its annual Voter Registration Drive on campus beginning Sept. 25. Eastern’s PTK chapter has a long history of winning the statewide competition for registering the most new voters in their category, and they hope to carry on the tradition.
Making that easier is a new option. This year there is an option to register fully online at: Home Page – OKVoterPortal (okelections.us)
The voter registration event will be a movie on the lawn with drinks and devices to help people to register provided by PTK. This event is sponsored by student services.
Students who register to vote will be placed into a drawing by putting their name and information down onto a form which will be picked up by officer team members on Oct 9. Below is the link to this form.
After the two weeks they will be drawing names from those who participated and completed a new voter registration, update their current registration, or show that they are registered to vote. The prize for this will be $50 cash.
Participation is massively encouraged, especially among college students as there are not enough young people voting. For more information contact an PTK officer.
