The inaugural season for the Eastern Oklahoma State College shooting sports team got off to a solid start at the Prairie Circuit Conference Championships in North Platte, Neb. The team finished in 2nd place in the junior college division and freshman Clay Laughlin was named to the all-conference freshman team.
“Our students worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks,” said Tishina Mindemann, Eastern shooting sports head coach. “They traveled to Ada twice a week to practice until our own facility is completed.”
Team members were Clay Laughlin, Durant, Okla.; Collin Rindal, Ada, Okla.; Austin Palmer, Ada, Okla.; Colton Howard, Roland, Okla.; TeeJay Trotter, Vian, Okla.; Colton Hulsey, Wilburton, Okla.;
AJ Russell, Greenwood, Ark.
This is the first year of Eastern’s shooting sports program and the team is looking for assistance from the community.
“We are looking for local sponsorships for our team,” Mindemann said. “The sponsorship includes advertisement at our shooting sports facility that will hopefully be completed in October.”
